Back in March, we announced the exciting next phase of the Midsteeple Quarter Project and a huge step forward for the regeneration of Dumfries High Street with the redevelopment work of 135-139 High Street.

We recently welcomed Carolyn Cluness to the Midsteeple Quarter team, who joins us as our Community Engagement Worker. Carolyn has already been getting stuck in to lots of exciting projects, and we hope that you’ll see her at many future events - do feel free to say hello and have a chat!

We are delighted to announce Midsteeple Quarter has been granted Listed Building Consent for The Press (117 High Street). Listed building consent is the mechanism by which planning authorities ensure that any changes to listed buildings are appropriate and sympathetic to their character. It helps to protect what is a rare and unique building.

Midsteeple Quarter have three prime location spaces that are now available for our community to use on a temporary basis. We want to breath life into these new spaces in the heart of our hight street. Do you have a business idea you would like to try out in one of these spaces as a temporary use?

Midsteeple Quarter are pleased to announce the winners of their recent Shop Front Design Competition, which asked High School Pupils from Dumfries & Galloway to submit their ideas for what the new shop front of ‘The Oven’ could look like.

We are looking for a Community Engagement Worker to lead our new Creative Community Engagement Programme. You will be joining a highly motivated and experienced team which is planning to expand over the coming year and be part of one of the most exciting community regeneration projects in Scotland. 

Following a successful Crowdfunder campaign to raise money towards the purchase of three High Street buildings, Midsteeple Quarter, a Community Benefit Society, are pleased to announce the purchase of 109 and 111 High Street.

Midsteeple Quarter recently announced a huge step forward for the regeneration of Dumfries High Street, with the redevelopment work of ‘The Oven’ (135-139 High Street) which commenced on Monday 8th March.

As part of our recent Crowdfunder campaign, we commissioned local artist Jakob Kaye to create an innovative and changing artwork that demonstrates the support of local groups, businesses and individuals for the Midsteeple Quarter project. Jakob has created an isometric monolith which features buildings within the Midsteeple Project, incorporating the names of all the wonderful people and businesses that donated to our Crowdfunder over the course of 4 weeks.
