We were absolutely delighted recently to host the launch of The Depot Cook Book, as well as the opening of an exhibition by Syrian artist Nour Aoedat, at The Standard on Dumfries High Street.

The book, which was launched as part of The Depot’s activities to mark Refugee Week, is full of fantastic recipes and remarkable stories.

And Nour’s exhibition - Between The Shadow and Light, exploring humanity, memory and emotion - was really thought-provoking too. It’s ran in our Green Room event space over several days.

As the book was launched and exhibition opened, it was fantastic to see The Standard so full, with a lovely atmosphere as our photographs show.

The stories of those who have contributed to the book are remarkable. Their recipes look delicious too.

The feedback of everyone who visited was really positive.

It is lovely working with The Depot.

Find out more about how you can use the spaces we have available at The Standard and in our other community-owned Midsteeple Quarter buildings here.
